Vision for the Future

In November 2011 we published our document Manchester 2020, Manchester University strategic plan.

Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester, responsible for delivery of this plan, which aims to make our institution one of the 25 leading research universities in the world in 2020.

Our goal is to be internationally known as the place where the highest academic values ​​and educational innovation, they love it, me thriving research and makes a real difference, and that violations scholarship to reverberate throughout society.

The strategic plan is based on three core objectives of our world-class research, learning and experience exceptional students, and social responsibility.

2020 Manchester document builds on the goals set by the first, 2015 Agenda Manchester, established plan for the newly formed University of Manchester following the merger of Victoria University of Manchester and UMIST in 2004.
